Absence day pay rate

Question
What is the typical pay rate for a paid absence day?
Answer
Most firms that provide a paid absence day benefit compute the pay for this benefit based on the employee's regular daily pay rate for a regular work day. The intent is to provide a paid absence benefit where the employee does not lose pay when taking a day off under this benefit.

For example, an employee who is paid $400 per week for a 5 day work week normally working 8 hours per day, would receive $80.00 per day for the paid personal day benefit.
($400.00 per week / 5 days per week = $80.00 for an 8 hour workday).
