After market definition

Question
What is the definition of "after market"?
Answer
After market, or aftermarket, is products and services that are provided for sale to be applied to equipment after the original sale. The term is also applied to the parts or services themselves. There is, for example, a very large industry dedicated to the manufacture and supply of aftermarket parts and accessories to the automotive industry after the sale by automotive manufacturers, and could be for both customizing or for maintenance.

In a financial context, after market refers to stock trading that occurs after the initial public offering (IPO).
