Assembly plant definition
What is the definition of "assembly plant"?
An assembly plant is a manufacturing entity where parts are assembled into finished products. For example, modern automotive plants are classic assembly plants.
In an assembly plant, parts, components and other materials are typically produced elsewhere, whether by the assembly company or an outside vendor, and delivered to the assembly plant as needed.
