Blanket order value

A blanket order is a very valuable relationship to establish with a customer because it places your business in a high orbit of preferential vendors.

What a blanket order does not give you, typically, is exclusivity. It's quite common for a business to have more than one blanket order with vendors offering similar lines.

Consequently, it's quite possible that, if you don't keep the benefits of doing business with you in front of your customer, you could be the proud owner of a blanket order, but with no sales.
