Borrowing against accounts receivableQuestion Can I borrow against my accounts receivable?
Answer Yes, and there are two kinds: factoring and asset-based loans.

"Factoring" is financing of receivables on a small scale, thousands of dollars, and is typically offered by private companies specializing in this kind of transaction. The cost of this financing will not be inexpensive, and will depend on the strength of your financial condition and the quality of your receivables. You may be able to work something out with your local bank for a loan on receivables. But be prepared to either be rejected or to be asked for other collateral, as most banks aren't set up to manage a loan that is collateralized only by receivables.
