Brainstorming definitionQuestion What is brainstorming and what are the rules?
Answer Brainstorming is a thinking tool designed to stimulate creativity through the generation of many options and ideas for consideration. It's one of the oldest, best-known, most effective, and yet most widely abused creativity tools in use today.
For brainstorming to be effective, the following five rules must be used once a topic or question has been selected: 1. Strive for quantity of ideas 2. Reserve all judgment - good or bad 3. Freewheel - go farther and farther with crazy ideas 4. Piggyback on ideas - let ideas stimulate each other 5. Have fun - humor topples mind blocks At the end of the session, apply affirmative judgment to pick the best options and ideas on which to take action.
