Bulk material definition

Question
What is the definition of "bulk material"?
Answer
Bulk materials are goods that are handled in large quantities without the benefit of individual packaging. Bulk materials are often liquids, loose free-flowing products and materials such as oil, coal, sand, grain, stone, etc., to name a few.

Metal coils or ingots are also examples of bulk material. While not free flowing, they are large quantities of the same material. For quality purposes, a sample from one coil or lot may be used to represent the lot.
