Business proposal elements
What are the essential elements of an effective business proposal?
Here is a condensed outline of a classic business proposals:
- An executive summary that very briefly restates why you're there, what your prospect has told you is important to them, and again, a VERY brief statement on how the information to follow will address and answer their requirements.
- The deliverables section that addresses more specifically the customer's requirements, what they want, how they will benefit from doing business with you, schedules and milestones, any collateral material, like product information, and any information that's particular to this customer and this proposal.
- The financial section, where you identify the customer's investment. There is a reason this is at the end. It should be discussed last.
- A completed contract, so your prospect has the opportunity to accept on the spot.
