How do I connect sales commissions to my business plan? 
Answer
All compensation plans must be absolutely consistent with the operating, marketing and strategic plans of the company. Commission-based compensation plans should:

- Motivate and reward sales people to accomplish sales goals which drive the revenue projections in the business plan

- Drive specific, clearly identified product line sales goals

Establish these two goals and make sure salespeople are compensated well for measurable performance in these specific areas.
