Definition of employment test

Just as testing is used in schools as a measure of the student's acquired knowledge, some employers like to use an employment test as a measure of the job candidate's knowledge, skills or other job characteristics.

Many employers use testing as part of the new hire screening and selection process. Others may use testing to evaluate candidates for certain job assignments or for promotion to more responsible jobs.
