Encouraging referrals

What can I do to encourage my clients to refer me to others? 
The best way to get the best people to provide you with the best referrals is to recognize that successful people are busy. So you MUST help them to help you:

- Check in with your clients often and talk with them about your client profile
- If you want to get referrals, give referrals
- Thank those who have been referral sources in the past
- Ask for referrals. This may sound intuitive, but it's frequently forgotten.
