Congratulations for beginning your education on what it takes to export. Small businesses represent more than 90% of all U.S. exporters and almost one third of all export dollars. Many small businesses have used export opportunities to diversify their market opportunity and exposure.

There is no better place to start learning about exporting than www.export.gov, which is the website offered for small businesses by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC). Locally, the U.S. Commercial Service office (part of DOC) are found in all states, and their staff are experts at helping you with your export journey, and connecting you to their DOC counterparts in other countries and prospects there. You should be able to find the office near you at the website above.
