Set guidelines that are clear. Post rules, if necessary, to remind others in the household that your work space cannot be invaded without good reason, either by their presence or noise.

Also understand that unrealistic rules can cause resentment by other members of the household. Let them know what works for you and ask what works for them - then try to find a comfortable balance for everyone involved.
