There are a number of sources of competitive salary information. Many charge a fee for their information, but there is much information available without charge.

The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics (www.dol.gov) publishes various data on wages, wage adjustments, hours, and occupational earnings.

Various state government agencies dealing with labor or employment also track area salary data. Some state government agencies that administer unemployment insurance also track employment, unemployment, and wage data, including occupational pay rates.
