Frequency of employee raises

Question
How often should an employee receive a pay increase?
Answer
It's the employer's prerogative to set pay rates for employees and to periodically adjust those pay rates. The timing or frequency of pay adjustments is at the employer's discretion, unless otherwise defined by contract.

It's customary practice at many organizations to consider employee pay adjustments on a periodic basis, such as once each year. Employer decide what is a fair and reasonable schedule for handling employee pay adjustments.
