Good first impressions

Question
What are some ways that I can make good first impressions with my clients?
Answer
Setting the right tone for a good first impression with a client begins by choosing an environment that sets an aura of professionalism amid approachability.

If at your firm, it should be quiet, uncluttered and non-distracting - like a conference room. This can create an atmosphere of trust and strength. If in your office, get out from behind the desk and sit next to the client or customer. This creates a warmer, more approachable relationship. Alternatively, you may meet your client at a restaurant or club, where the atmosphere is conducive to a good first impression.

When choosing where to meet, remember a client's need for privacy should determine the location.
