Home-based business addressQuestion Should I get a Post Office box for my home-based business?
Answer Millions of home-based business owners use their residential address for their business with no ill affects. It really depends on how you do business and who you do business with. Here's some things to consider:
- Professional image. To some people, a residential-sounding address (Sunflower Drive or Apt. 1A) appears unprofessional. Do your customers care? - Organization. Using a P.O. Box can keep personal and business mail separate. - Safety. Putting your home address on your business card, stationery or website lets the world know where you live. Are you comfortable with that? - Is it a scam? Publicity surrounding use of P.O. Boxes for scams may leave some prospects wary of sending anything to a P.O. Box.
