Home-based business and a young family
Is it possible to work at home with an infant?
Organization, time management and maintaining realistic expectations are key. From free time to deadlines, your work-at-home work life will change when a little one comes along.
Babies and businesses grow in spurts. Think about how you will handle the growth of both as they relate to each other. For example: As a baby begins to explore it's world you may need to adjust the location of your office equipment and space.
As your business grows and requires more of your time, you may need to make other arrangements to make sure baby is taken care of properly. In entrepreneurship as with telework, the home office should be no substitute for child care.
Once your child has reached school age, you will have more freedom to spend time on your business while still having the flexibility to participate in school and other activities with your child.
