Saving money often requires some elbow grease and shoe leather.

Check out yard sales, estate sales, second-hand stores and office supply store sales. Look for "scratch and dent" inventory, too. Sometimes they are returns that the store will sell cheap.

Look around at what you already have that could be used. For instance, a computer or work desk can be made from two 2-drawer file cabinets and an old door. Keep your eyes open for auctions and want ads in your local papers.

Just don't skimp on the chair; bad ergonomic design could leave you uncomfortable - or worse, in the chiropractor's office.

As your company grows and becomes profitable, you can purchase nicer furniture.
