Home office separation

How can I keep my personal life separate from my home-based business, which doesn't have it's own room?
It does make it harder when there is no visible barrier to separate your office space from personal space. But it's not impossible. Try rearranging furniture to form a separation - keeping in mind that out of sight can create for a more solitary and workable home office solution. Bookcases, file cabinets, a row of potted plants and folding room dividers or a Japanese shoji screen work well to create separation.

More importantly, set rules for yourself. Be strict about not doing personal things in your work space. That way your won't mix personal and business papers and other items. If you still have difficulty, look closely at other areas of the house that might work better.
