How to tell if customers are happy

Positive feedback and referrals are excellent quick references. If you're getting referrals, and people are telling you of positive experiences, it's a handy clue that your business is meeting customers' needs.

Don't wait for customers to tell you about positive experiences. Ask. Even if you're in the early stages of building your business and not yet getting referrals, ask customers whether they were satisfied, and whether they would refer you to friends who might benefit from your services.
