Identifying stakeholders

Question
How do I identify key stakeholders for a project?
Answer
Once you have defined the success criteria for the project, ask who else this would be important to. This gives you a list of stakeholders.

Next ask, "Do these stakeholders have the same definition of success for the project? Can we ask them?"

This method works for managers as well as for consultants.
