ISO definition

Question
What is the definition of ISO as it relates to quality?
Answer
ISO is the acronym for International Organization for Standardization. ISO is the largest developer of quality standards in the world with a membership of 157 countries. Their purpose is to achieve international quality standardization in products and services.

There are several ISO designations, depending on whether products or services. You may have seen ISO 9000, for example.

Conformance to ISO standards is more and more becoming a fundamental requirement for doing business with sophisticated international businesses.
