Keeping key customers
What can I do to increase my chances of keeping my best customers?
One of the best ways to keep any customer is to do something that's tried and true: under-promise and over-deliver.
Begin to over deliver as soon as you close the deal. When you sign a contract with a new customer, always think of one more thing you can do for them. This approach really hits home with them because others rarely do it.
Never take your key customers for granted. Do something on a regular basis for your top customers. Consider standard activities, like taking a client out to lunch, or do something out of the ordinary, such as making a donation to their favorite charity, or offering to help their graduating son in his job search.
Regularly ask them what you can do for them and then do it.
