Learning how to sell

In order to learn, retain and apply sales and communication skills, the following five criteria must be met:

- Hear the information through the spoken word, in person or through media.

- Read the information, then review immediately to boost comprehension.

- Write the information, which helps retention.

- Role-play what was taught to apply what was taught in a controlled setting.

- Take it to the marketplace. Working with real customers, the student builds on the knowledge and learns from mistakes.
