Linking to web sitesQuestion What's the best way to use links to other web sites?
Answer Here are four ideas:
1. Create a links page on your site. Your web site needs to be more than a brochure; it needs to be a resource to visitors. A links page accomplishes this. 2. Use categories to organize your links, then include for each: (a) the name of the company or organization, (b) the URL or web address, and (c) a one-line descriptor of what people will find there, or what you like most about it. 3. Keep tabs on the sites you're linking to. Web sites disappear as quickly as they appear, and it's unprofessional to have a dead link on your site. Check the links regularly to make sure they're still working. 4. Link to sites that augment the information on yours. You won't have to go into depth on certain topics because the sites you link to will help you do that.
