Marketing plan for home-based businessQuestion When should I develop a marketing plan for my home-based business?
Answer Every business needs a marketing plan, so if you don't have one, the time is now. The best time to develop your marketing plan for the next year is the fourth quarter of this year. By then you should have an idea about how this year is going, you can annualize the year-to-date numbers, and start building your plan for next year.
By the fourth quarter, you should have a good idea about any changes that might need to be make in your organization, you can see product and service trends, competitive pressures and market adjustments, all of which will affect your marketing plan. With your first marketing plan, don't try to be hyper specific. You need some experience before you get too analytical. But make sure you track your results so the assumptions for your next plan will be more accurate..
