Marketing time allocationQuestion How much time should I set aside for marketing my small business?
Answer A good rule-of-thumb is to spend 20% of your time on marketing. Here are a few thoughts on how to allocate that time:
- One day a week (such as "Marketing Monday") - The first hour or two of each day, to get it out of the way - One morning early in the week plus an afternoon later in the week. - Attend one networking event per week if possible, one every other week if not, and one per month as an absolute minimum Do whatever makes the most sense in your schedule, but the key is to make the commitment to yourself by actually scheduling it into your calendar.
