Money-back definition

Question
What is a money-back guarantee?
Answer
Often associated with an advertising campaign, a money-back guarantee is a promise to return the purchase price of a product, if the customer isn't pleased with it. There are many variations, with regard to time limitations, improper use, or whether the product must be returned.

Even thought a guarantee is not required of any business, this is an offer that should be included in every direct marketing campaign.

Whether money-back or otherwise, according to the Federal Trade Commission, a guarantee or warranty is an oral or written promise by a manufacturer or retailer that they will stand behind a product or service.
