Napping techniquesQuestion What is the best way to take a nap?
Answer A proper nap is nothing more than about ten minutes of meditation, shutting down from the normal state of alertness (beta waves) and entering the state between alertness and sleep (alpha waves). Follow these four steps to achieve an ideal nap:
1. Find a quiet place 2. Lie on the floor if possible (spread-eagled) 3. Breathe deeply to relax 4. Clear your mind, and remain this way until images begin to dance in your mind's eye. Remember: The goal of "napping" is NOT to fall into a deep sleep. If you do, you must stay down for the count, for one full cycle, or about 1 ½ hours, or else you will typically feel sluggish for the remainder of the afternoon.
