Networking conversation starters
What can I do or say to get conversations going at a networking event?
Here are three handy tips to get a conversation established when networking:
1. Take charge of your table. Select a table moderator and ask everyone to introduce themselves and exchange business cards. Follow up with interesting connections.
2. Use the buddy system. Whenever possible, network in pairs. Being introduced by someone else makes conversation easier. Take turns.
3. Put your web address (URL) on your nametag along with your name. It will be a conversation starter and plant a little seed for someone to visit your web site.
