Not patentable

Question
Are there some things that may not be patented?
Answer
Yes, a patent may not be obtained for any of the following:

- A law of nature
- A physical phenomena
- Abstract ideas

Also, certain inventions that find their only use in the utilization of special nuclear material or atomic energy in an atomic weapon may not be patented.

If an invention has been patented once, it may not be patented again in the future.
