Pay raise requirements

Question
Are pay raises for employees required?
Answer
Unless required by an employment contract, there is no requirement for an employer to increase the compensation of any employee.

However, as long as employee performance is satisfactory, annual pay raises at least commensorate with the inflation rate is generally accepted as a human resources best practice.
