What is a press release and how does it work? 
A press release is a short (typically one page), double-spaced message about your company, written in crisp, concise newspaper-style. The message must be about a milestone, accomplishment, etc., but absolutely is not advertising.

A press release, also sometimes called a news release, is sent to editors, reporters, producers and journalists with newspapers, magazines, electronic publications, television and radio stations, and other outlets. If selected, it's published as editorial, which typically results in more credibility than an advertisement.

Many consider the press release to be the single-most effective marketing element.
