Building a cohesive team is vital to the success of your company. But before a team can be cohesive, your employees have to feel secure, empowered and positive.

A simple and effective way to create a group mindset is to "deputize" everyone to be on the lookout for co-workers who are seeking excellence by taking initiative, delivering value to customers and goodwill for the company. When this behavior is identified, have them submit the "who, what, when and where" to you in writing, then post the news on an "Excellence Billboard" conspicuously displayed in a high-traffic area of the office, or by email.
