Sales statistics

Question
What are the most important statistics in retail sales?
Answer
There are three vital numbers you need to know in order to increase retail sales and profits:

- Traffic count: How many people are giving you the opportunity to sell.
- Average Sale: Total sales dollars divided by total sales tickets.
- Closing Ratio: How many prospects talked to divided by the number of people sold.

A sales force is charged with driving the top line of your profit and loss statement, which only allows for the entry of numbers, not opinion, promises or feelings. Which is why selling is not for the meek or faint-of-heart.
