Scope of creativity

Not at all. Smaller incremental changes may not be as flashy, but are still creative as long as they fit the definition of being new and useful for some period of time.

Look at what Sony accomplished by evolving the tape recorder into the Walkman, or what Apple did by creating the iPod. Entire new businesses have blossomed around these single - though dramatic - creative events. Most of the changes were hundreds -- perhaps thousands -- of small, incremental changes.
