Team building mistakes

When building a team, avoid the five deadly sins of team-building.

1. Don't talk at or to your team (talk with them)

2. Don't talk about team members not in attendance

3. Don't talk around them (use direct language and speak directly to them)

4. Don't whine about issues. Take a stand and correct them.

5. Don't avoid team members or their issues. Tackle them head on and directly.

Remember, you're the leader -- lead.
