What issues should be considered in allowing an employee to work from home in a telecommuting work arrangement?
Employers may consider telecommuting for certain jobs on an ongoing or periodic basis providing three parameters can be met.
1. The job must be suitable and practical for telecommuting.
2. The employee must have demonstrated the ability to be a successful telecommuter.
3. It must be possible to manage and monitor the productivity and work quality of the telecommuting employee.
