Use tax warning on online auctions

Question
Should I warn potential buyers that they may have to pay state use taxes on their winning online auction bid?
Answer
Even though use taxes are are a buyer's responsibility and generally not the responsibility of the seller, buyers really hate it when they have a nasty tax surprise that the seller didn't warn them about.

Here's a short statement to consider for the Terms and Conditions section: "Your purchase may be subject to use tax in your state; check with your accountant or tax adviser before bidding on this item." That way, if the buyers get nailed by their state tax authority, they can't complain that the seller didn't warn them.
