What is the definition of "wharfage"? 
Answer
Wharfage is an expense component in the process of moving goods along the delivery system. It is a charge made by the owner or operator of a freight terminal, rail terminal or port for the movement of cargo into or out of that facility. It is most common when shipping bulk goods.
