What is the definition of "worst-case scenario"?
Worst-case scenario is a term used to describe the most severe possible outcomes that can be projected to occur in a given situation. A scenario is a projection of how the future may unfold based on current information. The worst-case is a type of scenario designed to anticipate the downside possibilities.
Worst-case scenarios are often used in strategic planning to prepare for and minimize contingencies that could result in accidents, quality problems or other issues.
